Ways to Pay for Therapy

Therapy costs vary based on service type, session length, insurance eligibility, and plan benefits. I offer several ways to access care, including in-network insurance through Headway, out-of-network benefits through Thrizer, and self-pay. Before anything is scheduled, you’ll receive clear information about the option that applies to you and your expected financial responsibility.

Choose the Option That Fits

The right payment option depends on your insurance benefits, the type of service you are seeking, and whether you prefer to use insurance or self-pay. The overview below explains the main options. If you are unsure, you can indicate that in your appointment request and I will help you identify the appropriate next step.

Insurance Through Headway

Individual therapy may be eligible for in-network coverage through Headway. Your copay, deductible, and coverage are determined by your specific insurance plan. Using insurance generally requires a clinical diagnosis and services that meet your plan’s medical-necessity requirements.

Out-of-Network Benefits

If I am not in network with your plan, Thrizer may help verify and process out-of-network benefits. Eligibility, reimbursement, and your estimated responsibility depend on your specific plan. Verification is not a guarantee of payment by your insurer.

Self-Pay

Self-pay is available for individual therapy, couples therapy, and services that may not be covered by insurance. It can offer more flexibility around service type and session length. Exact fees are provided before scheduling. HSA or FSA funds may be used for eligible services; please confirm eligibility with your plan or account administrator.

What to Know Before You Begin

  • Insurance benefits vary by plan and should be verified before your first session.
  • Using insurance generally requires a clinical diagnosis and coverage based on medical necessity.
  • Couples therapy coverage varies and may not be eligible for insurance reimbursement.
  • Uninsured and self-pay clients receive information about expected charges before beginning services, including a Good Faith Estimate when required.

Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds may be used for eligible services.

Flexible Ways to Work Together

Therapy may be structured as weekly or biweekly sessions, periodic support, or extended sessions for more focused work. The format depends on your needs, goals, clinical fit, and payment option. We will discuss the available choices before scheduling.

Individual and Couples Therapy

Individual therapy is available for clients seeking ongoing support with mood, trauma, relationships, identity, perinatal experiences, and other concerns. Couples therapy focuses on relationship patterns, communication, conflict, and connection.

Focused and Extended Sessions

Some clients benefit from longer or more concentrated sessions. Extended sessions and intensive formats offer additional time to work through complex or layered concerns. These services are generally self-pay, and availability and expected costs are discussed before scheduling.

Clinical Supervision for Texas LMSWs

I provide virtual individual and group clinical supervision for Texas LMSWs working toward LCSW licensure. My approach is thoughtful, direct, practical, and grounded in social work values.

We focus on case conceptualization, ethical decision-making, clinical confidence, professional identity, and patterns that emerge in client work. Supervision offers space to think through difficult cases, navigate uncertainty, meet licensure requirements, and develop your own voice as a therapist.

Supervision is tailored to your experience and professional goals. Contact me to ask about current availability, format, and fees.

Limited Sliding-Scale Availability

I offer a limited number of reduced-rate spaces for individual therapy when financial circumstances make care difficult to access. Availability is not guaranteed and requires a brief financial-assistance application. Reduced-rate spaces are limited to 12 sessions so that support can remain accessible and sustainable.
