Identity, Relationships, and Internal Experience

You may be navigating questions about your identity, your relationships, or how you want to move through the world, and not always have a space where that feels fully understood.

At times, this can show up as feeling disconnected, uncertain, or carrying tension between different parts of your life, such as family, relationships, community, or internal expectations. You may also notice patterns in how you relate to others or yourself that feel difficult to shift.

For many people, this is not just about personal experience. It is also shaped by the environments and systems you have had to move through, including spaces where your identity has not been fully seen, understood, or supported. That can create a level of stress and vigilance that carries into daily life and relationships.

You do not have to minimize or explain that here.

Therapy offers a space to make sense of both your internal experience and the context around it, so you can begin to respond in a way that feels more grounded and aligned with who you are.

How I Work with LGBTQIA+

I provide therapy for individuals navigating identity, relationships, trauma, and mood-related concerns within the LGBTQIA+ community. This includes experiences shaped by gender identity, sexual orientation, and the environments and systems you have had to navigate

My approach is thoughtful, direct, and grounded in understanding your experience within the context of both your personal history and the systems around you.

We look at patterns, not just symptoms, including how past experiences, relationships, and environments have shaped how you think, feel, and respond. This often includes understanding how chronic stress, invalidation, or the need to adapt in different spaces has impacted your nervous system and sense of self.

I draw from approaches such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed work, and somatic practices to support both emotional processing and regulation.

This is not about changing who you are or helping you “fit” into something that does not align with you. It is about understanding what has been shaped around you, reducing internal conflict, and creating space for more stability, clarity, and connection.

We move at a pace that allows for real understanding while still focusing on what is not working and where change is possible.

Common Experiences

You might notice:

-Uncertainty or ongoing exploration around identity or relationships
-Feeling misunderstood, unseen, or having to explain yourself in other spaces
-Internal conflict between different parts of yourself or how you show up in different environments
-Anxiety, depression, or a constant sense of stress or vigilance
-Patterns in relationships that feel difficult to change
-Navigating family dynamics, acceptance, or rejection
-Stress related to safety, belonging, or how you are perceived

These experiences are not a reflection of something being wrong with you. They often develop in response to environments, expectations, and systems that required you to adapt in order to navigate them.

In therapy, we focus on understanding these patterns more clearly, so you can begin to move through your life in a way that feels more grounded, integrated, and aligned with who you are, not just how you have had to cope.
